Our team consists of ten experienced attorneys: a Director who brings over 20 years of multi-faceted experience to the position, seven counselors, two Employer Relations Specialists and four dedicated career assistants.
Through early outreach, an individualized approach, and comprehensive career development programs, our OCPD team is committed to providing you with the building blocks necessary for a rewarding legal career. We will guide you towards your career, from your first semester, through graduation, and beyond, as you discover the practice of law and determine your individual interests.
Counselors will guide you towards experiences that will give you the most options post-graduation. That means meticulous attention to developing a powerful legal resume and cover letter, and helping you to develop the networking and interviewing skills necessary for success.
To help you make informed decisions about your career options, the OCPD draws on many resources, including the Law School’s extraordinary community of alumni, our invaluable clinical program, and supportive faculty, to organize both large and intimate programs, workshops and events on established and developing practice areas, as well as job search skills. We also partner with student organizations to develop programming tailored to the interests of our student body.
Our job development effort is led by the Director and spearheaded by Employer Relations Specialists whose focus is to develop positions within Private and Government sectors. We also host numerous recruitment programs and job fairs, in which large and small employers interview and hire our students for academic year and summer placements, as well as post-graduate positions that continue year-round.
With an open-door policy and easy access to help when you need it, our aim is to prepare you fully for the real world of legal practice that lies ahead.
