Looking to change jobs? Searching for a job in 2010 requires a proactive approach and strategic thinking. Our panel of practitioners and career development professionals will provide you with tips on how to market yourself in the new economy. Topics will include advanced networking techniques and resume and cover letter writing for experienced attorneys.


Thinking of Going Solo? Considerations for Starting a Solo or Small Firm Partnership

As legal costs continue to rise, more and more clients of every size and type are turning to smaller firms to meet their legal needs. If you are considering starting your own practice, or joining with a few colleagues to start a small firm, come hear our panel of practitioners and small firm advisors discuss considerations for starting a practice. Topics will include how to choose a business entity, whether to go solo or join with a partner, the nuts and bolts of setting up a practice, and how to develop a client base and business plan.

Advancing your career does not always require changing jobs. In this program geared for junior to mid-level associates at small to mid-size firms, we will discuss various professional development considerations such as how to get the most out of your current position, how to make yourself valuable and indispensable to your employer, how to recognize and obtain the skills you need to succeed, and marketing and business development basics for associates.
