Richard B. Rutledge, a retired Queen County NYS Supreme Court Justice, received a Distinguished Service Medallion from Florida Atlantic University in recognition of his service as one of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. Judge Rutledge enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941, went to the South Pacific, and took part in the invasion of the Palau Islands. He is currently living in Plantation, Florida and serves as a Court Mediator for Mediation Inc. (6/4/2012)
