Francis J. Aquila, a partner in the New York office of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and co-head of the firm's General Practice Group, joined the board of directors of Uniting Against Lung Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to funding innovative research and raising awareness to find a cure for lung cancer. Aquila's practice includes negotiated and unsolicited mergers and acquisitions; complex cross-border transactions; global joint ventures; private equity transactions; and corporate governance matters. Aquila is also a member of the Brooklyn Law School Board of Trustees. (10/3/2013)
Ann L. MacDougall was appointed president of Encore.org, a national nonprofit that helps people transition to jobs in the nonprofit world and the public sector. MacDougall leads strategy, operations, programs, and initiatives for the company. She previously served as chief operating officer of Acumen, a global nonprofit that raises charitable donations to invest in companies, leaders, and ideas that are changing the way the world tackles poverty.
