Charles N. Curlett is the Managing Partner of the Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC based civil and criminal litigation boutique firm of Levin & Curlett LLC. The firm recently expanded to New York, opening an office in Midtown in February 2014. Curlett represents clients in SEC investigations, FINRA arbitrations and in litigation on the federal and state court levels. (3/10/2014)

Lisa F. Garcia joined the Washington, D.C. office of Earthjustice, a preeminent environmental earth law organization, as its new Vice President of Litigation for Health. In this newly created role, Garcia leads the organization’s litigation on clean air, toxic chemicals, pesticides, and issues of environmental justice. Garcia previously served as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Associate Assistant Administrator for Environmental Justice. She also served as the Chief Advocate for Environmental Justice and Equity at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. (7/7/2014)

Rio Guerrero, co-founder of the boutique immigration firm, Guerrero Yee LLP, was presented with The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) award in the category of Public Service at TOFA-NY’s annual awards event in December 2013. Guerrero was recognized for his 15+ years of pro bono legal service benefiting individuals and organizations in the Asian Pacific American community. He represents companies, organizations, and individuals with complicated U.S. visa, work permit, and green card matters and is particularly known for his creative solutions in profoundly complex immigration cases. Shawn A. Miles, group head, global public policy and regulatory strategy at MasterCard, co-chaired the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit working group, "Making Finance Mobile: Banking with Any Device, Anywhere for Everyone," in November 2013. Miles is responsible for MasterCard's global public policy and regulatory strategy efforts in all key markets outside of the European Union and he also leads the company's consumer education initiatives. Scot Phelps, a professor at the Emergency Management Academy and an emergency management consultant, was appointed as a fellow at New York Medical College’s Center for Disaster Medicine, where he is researching how emergency medical services, hospitals, public health, and other healthcare organizations manage acute healthcare needs and function during crisis. He was also re-appointed to the Fulbright Specialist Roster in the Public Administration Category for 2014-19. The program awards grants to U.S. faculty and professionals in select disciplines to engage in short-term collaborative projects at eligible institutions in over 140 countries worldwide. Richard B. Polner joined the New York office of Rawle & Henderson LLP as an associate. He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial motor vehicle litigation, catastrophic construction liability, products liability, premises liability, and toxic torts. (1/7/2014)

Michael K. Robles was elected partner in the New York office of Crowell Moring. He concentrates his practice on matters relating to insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution. (1/7/2014)

Boyd L. Rogers was promoted to Vice President of Labor and Employer Relations at JELD-Wen, Inc., a global manufacturer of windows and doors. Rogers relocated with his wife and three children to the company's global headquarters in Charlotte, NC. (9/9/2014)

Jordan S. Rosenthal is a partner in the Washington, D.C. and New York City offices of Empire Search Partners, LLC as a partner. Rosenthal focuses on the company's National Partner Practice, and he also represents senior attorneys in the federal government seeking to enter private practice with a focus on the energy sector. Rosenthal previously served as a director in the Partners, Groups & Mergers Division in the Miami and Washington, D.C. offices of Mestel & Co. (9/9/2014)

Lawrence T. Shepps, previously with Wachtel Missry LLP, joined Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman LLP as of counsel in the firm's Real Estate Transactional Practice. Richard J. Sobelsohn, Team Lead and Group Director of the Financial Practice Area Modules at Lexis Practice Advisor, served as a panelist at an ABA ethics CLE, "Identify Your Clients and Work Effectively With Them," in May 2014. He also spoke at the Fidelity National Title Insurance Company program, "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished - Ethical Challenges for Real Estate Attorneys," and at the BuildingsNY Conference panel, "Using AIA Tools to Manage Legal Issues on Sustainable Projects," in March 2014.
