In the Spring 2010 issue of LawNotes, we published a feature story entitled “Mergers & Acquisitions,” in which we shared six stories of BLS alumni who met at the Law School and married – one couple from every decade from the 1950s through the present day. The story was inspired by Joshua D. Kirshner ’04 and Amy Rozenfeld ’04, a couple who met and fell in love while at the Law School. Josh even enlisted the help of President Wexler in orchestrating his on-campus proposal to Amy!
In researching “Mergers & Acquisitions,” we discovered that hundreds of couples had met at BLS, and there are many more BLS alumni who met before or after law school. In fact, there are so many couples that we hosted a Valentine’s Day party last February to celebrate their love of the law…and each other.
We are delighted to present an ever-growing section of our Web site dedicated to couples who credit BLS as both their alma matter and their dating service. We received emails and letters from many couples who wrote in to tell us, in their own words, the story of their own “mergers and acquisitions.” We look forward to hearing from more couples, and welcome stories of all partnerships for inclusion on the site.

“My husband and I met at Brooklyn Law School. We were both in the same section in the Class of 1984. We were married on March 14, 1987 and have two children, ages 21 and 17. We both continue to practice law in the same office at 26 Court Street.”

“Randi and I met while at Brooklyn Law School. We were later married August 20, 1989. Randi and I were both members of the Brooklyn Heights Health & Racquet Club, and for some reason, my parents thought that I had met her at the gym. The story goes that while we were dating, before my parents met Randi, my mother commented that I was dating a girl from the gym, and why couldn’t I meet a nice girl from law school.”

“I am extremely pleased to report that Marie and I met in Professor Sam Hoffman's Wills class. Marie and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in May 2010. I am the luckiest guy in the world. Few are more grateful to BLS than I.”
