    Critics of China's widespread Internet firewalls are calling the censorship issue a matter of human rights, arguing that barring citizens from unlimited online access violates World Trade Organization treaties. Professor Derek Bambauer, an expert on Internet and Telecommunications law, discussed the controversy with the ABA Journal. "When China regulates [online] pornography, that clearly falls within the exemption," he said. "When it is filtering information on human rights, that's a lot harder to fit within the exemption."
