    Barry Kamins

Adjunct Professor Barry Kamins, who has served as the Administrative Judge for Criminal Matters, Second Judicial District since 2009, has been appointed Administrative Judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York. He was previously a partner in the criminal defense firm of Flamhaft Levy Kamins Hirsch & Rendeiro. Judge Kamins served as president of the New York City Bar from 2006 to 2008 and he co-chairs the New York State Permanent Sentencing Commission and the Chief Judge's Advisory Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure.

On his goals as Administrative Judge, Kamins told the New York Law Journal, "We need a more centralized focus on the operation of the court as it needs constant adjustment. With a central focus, I think the court can be managed more effectively."

Judge Kamins teaches the New York Criminal Procedure Workshop at Brooklyn Law School.
