Biography
Professor Aysha Ames combines an educational, legal, and entrepreneurial background spanning nearly two decades. Most recently, she served as an attorney with the United States Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights where she worked to ensure equal access to education and to resolve complaints of discrimination. Prior to attending law school, Professor Ames taught elementary school mathematics in Montclair, New Jersey.
Professor Ames is the founder of Yogalese LLC, a consulting company, and also maintains a yoga law practice where she advises and counsels yoga studios and instructors on employment, business liability, tax, and intellectual property matters.
Professor Ames is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law-Camden (J.D.), Rutgers University-Graduate School of Education (M.Ed.), and Rutgers College (B.A.). She is a member of the bar in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
