Biography
Doni Gewirtzman is a Professor of Law at New York Law School, where he teaches courses in constitutional law, legislation and regulation, and law and democracy. Professor Gewirtzman’s work has appeared in the Georgetown Law Journal, the California Law Review, and the American University Law Review, among other journals. He has also provided legal commentary on constitutional law-related issues for numerous media outlets, including CNN and the BBC.
Professor Gewirtzman is a three-time recipient of NYLS’s annual teaching award and he serves as both Co-Dean for Faculty Scholarship and Co-Director of the Initiative for Excellence in Law Teaching (IELT). He has also taught at Vanderbilt Law School, Brooklyn Law School, Université Paris Ouest Nanterre, and the New York University School of Law’s Lawyering Program.
Before entering academia, Professor Gewirtzman was a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison and a Skadden Fellow at Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund.
