Gateway to Lawyering I

This course introduces 1L students to the fundamentals of legal research, objective legal analysis, legal citation, and clear legal writing. Students write, and receive formative and summative feedback on, two graded legal memoranda, and perform a graded research assessment. Students also perform interim ungraded assignments such as grammar, citation, and editing exercises that form a professionalism component of the final grade for the course.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade only. Students graded on written and oral assignments.
