Ashley Allison ’11 Named Senior Advisor to Top Civil and Human Rights Coalition

Ashley Allison ’11, former White House deputy director and senior policy advisor at the Office of Public Engagement, has been named as senior advisor to The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition of more than 200 national organizations that promotes and protects the rights of all persons in the United States.

Allison has spent more than a decade as a community organizer and strategic planner. At the White House, she managed a team that worked with the LGBTQ, Muslim, Faith, African American, disability, and entertainment communities. Much of her own work focused on criminal justice and policing reform. Before joining the Obama Administration, Allison worked on the president’s 2012 reelection campaign and on healthcare enrollment.

Allison is a graduate of Ohio State University and has a master’s degree in education from Long Island University. She also has worked as a high school special education teacher in Brooklyn.
