Trustee Jeffrey Forchelli ’69 Receives ICON Award from Long Island Business News
Jeffrey Forchelli ’69, a member of the Brooklyn Law School Board of Trustees and managing partner of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana, has been recognized with an ICON award from Long Island Business News for his achievements in real estate and land use law.
Forchelli founded his law firm in 1976 and has served as managing partner for more than four decades. He has also served as counsel to, and on the Legal Advisory Board of, the New York State Assembly, and he served on the Board of Directors of Security Title and Guaranty Company. His peers in the legal community recently selected Forchelli for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018 in real estate.
The Forchelli family has longstanding ties to Brooklyn Law School, with three generations having attended the Law School. Forchelli’s father, Don Forchelli, graduated in 1931; his uncle, Vincent, graduated in 1940; and his cousin, Charles, graduated in 1971. Forchelli’s daughter, Nicole, is a 2007 graduate. The Forchellis have been generous supporters of the Law School. They have endowed two faculty chairs: the Jeffrey D. Forchelli Professor of Law chair held by Professor Neil B. Cohen, and the Don Forchelli Professor of Law chair held by Professor Lawrence Solan. In addition, the Jeffrey D. Forchelli Conference Center is the venue for the Law School’s scholarly symposia, academic programs, and social events.
Forchelli attended Wagner College as an undergraduate and has served as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Board there. He has also served as president of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District and as a Trustee of Nassau Community College.
