Brooklyn Law School Faculty Ranked 30th in the Nation for Scholarly Excellence

Brooklyn Law School’s faculty has been ranked 30th in the nation for “scholarly excellence, 2017 edition” according to the influential blog Brian Leiter’s Law School Reports. The list is compiled by University of Chicago Law School Professor Brian Leiter and is based on a poll of law school faculty peers in the field.

“This is yet another acknowledgment of the powerful impact of the scholarly work produced by our outstanding faculty,” said Dean Nick Allard. “We take pride in this important recognition by their peers of the overall excellence of our faculty scholars.”

“Brooklyn Law School’s scholarly strength has long been a source of pride for us,” said Vice Dean and Professor Steven Dean. “Alongside our commitment to teaching and service to the community, we are delighted that our pursuit of scholarly excellence continues to bear fruit.”

Earlier this year, recent faculty hires, including Professors Alice Ristroph and Alex Stein, received praise from Brian Leiter’s Law School Reports. The Law School also has been highly ranked in another Leiter Report list of most-cited tenured law school faculty, placing 26th in the nation in 2016 and 33rd in the nation in 2015.
