Alexandra Lenczewski ’20 Celebrates Class of 2020 with Miniature Ceremony
When Alexandra Lenczewski ’20 realized that the COVID-19 pandemic would force the postponement of this year’s commencement ceremony, she decided she could still do something special to honor her classmates. So she created a miniature graduation ceremony in her backyard and a video of it quickly went viral.
Lenczewski spent three days crafting a flag for every member of the Class of 2020, complete with tiny graduation caps and champagne bottles for the post-ceremony celebration. The video was first shared by ABC News, and garnered more than 50,000 views on its Facebook page alone. It since has been featured by NBC News, Good Morning America, FOX 5, and Yahoo! News, as well as some international outlets in the U.K., Australia, Singapore/Malaysia, and the Philippines.
“My classmates in the graduating Class of 2020 are such bright individuals, and they are going to be an asset to the world as professionals,” said Lenczewski. “It was amazing to see the widespread media attention that this video received. The graduating class of 2020, as well as the alumni, faculty and administration who make Brooklyn Law School the community that it is, deserve all of the recognition and celebration that was given.”
