Dean Cahill, Faculty Join New York Law Schools to Urge State Leaders to Adopt Diploma Privilege
Dean Michael T. Cahill joined the deans of the 15 New York law schools advocating for a diploma privilege for graduates in a July 17 letter addressed to leaders in state government.
The letter came a day after the Board of Law Examiners made the decision to cancel the September 9-10 administration of the bar examination in New York, in light of concerns that an in-person exam posed during the COVID-19 pandemic. A remote exam instead will be administered October 5-6.
In a similar July 21 letter addressed to state leaders, numerous Brooklyn Law School signatories were among the more than 300 full-time faculty members of the 15 New York law schools requesting diploma privileges for 2020 graduates.
