Professor Robin Effron Elected as New Member of American Law Institute
Dean’s Research Scholar and Professor of Law Robin Effron has been elected as a new member of the American Law Institute (ALI), the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law.
The ALI, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, aspires to strengthen and improve the legal system. Through her election, announced by the organization today, Effron will take on a a distinguished role that requires bringing expertise to ALI’s work of clarifying the law through Restatements, Principles, and Model Codes.
“Election to the ALI is a signal accomplishment, and this national recognition by her peers in the bench, bar, and academy is richly deserved,” said Joseph Crea Dean David D. Meyer.
Effron, who is co-director of the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law, also teaches civil procedure, litigation, and international business law courses. Her articles on procedure and federal courts have appeared in many leading law reviews and have been cited by several state, federal and foreign courts.
“Our greatest asset has always been our extraordinary members’ dedication of time, intellect, and energy to our projects,” said ALI President David F. Levi in a release announcing the new members. “As we close out this 100th Anniversary year and enter the Institute’s second century, I look forward to seeing the ways in which this class will continue our tradition of excellence in promoting and protecting the rule of law.”
